Wow, has it been that long? March was the latest entry? Interesting. Well here I am, my partner's very busy also. We apologize for not updating daily, we have been caught up with so many things in life that it became so hard to update. My partner has another website I think and she's doing a wonderful job at it! Happy Monday!! Well like what Ceci said it is a crazy month. We are still working on orders which is still fun!!!! :D We ended our Valentine's Sale two weeks ago with a great sales!! Our supporters, family and friends did their best to sell our creations. Now for the next few months we will be making Mother's Card for an early start!! Have a great week everyone!! :D

Crazy February Week

So we are still continuing in making Valentines cards and more and more are asking for it. It's crazy! There's more custom made ones more than buying the cards already made. It's interesting actually. Well we've done plenty and more to come until Valentines.

I will be leaving this week on thursday to Sedona, Arizona. So our sales will stop on the 12th. Trisha will be attending the scrapbooking convention {PLEASE remind me to give you the flyer!!! - give it to you wednesday.} this friday and she will be meeting with one of our friends we've met from 2Peas. Yay...she will have a blast!

We've also recieved more invitation orders. We will be making them once I get back from camp. It will be quick and simple. I am excited in recieving my orders from SU! I had ordered many things for the invitations and also ordered one of Trisha's "wish list" item...the SLIT PUNCH!!! I ruined the surprise by telling her.

Our First Invitations

It is finally done, our first order of invitations!! Ceci and I received an order from my cousin to make her daughter's birthday invitation. Of course, I cannot say no to family and she is the princess in the family. So this is what me and Ceci came up with... 2Peas Cupcake Social was the "funnest" - "hip-hip-hooray" type of social we will go every year! I was really happy that we attended this social. Patricia and I had a blast with this event. I will post some pictures for you to see. It was really fun and we met new people. We met Grace, Dannah, and Sharon aka SLEW. lol... We were the "non-participant" table and when we did participate, we all won something.

Good Morning!!! I just added a new component in the website. It is a tracker! It's super cool. I noticed many websites have this and I wondered "What the hey". Why not put it in the website. I would like to know who has been visiting us.

It was Trisha's birthday this saturday, so we didn't do any cardmaking this weekend. Well, I was suppose to make some but when I was gathering some of the stuff, I had forgotten the most important thing in making cards.

Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #39

Purpose: Using Kristina Warner's chosen colors.

Objective: To recreate a card which matches Kristina's chosen colors.

Why?
This is my first ever challenge for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration. I love making things really simple and with a focal point. My card's focal point is the bottom layer with the polka "hearts". I was really excited in creating this. I got to use the new cuttle bug my friend and I got from Michaels with 50% off... (woohoo!) we went crazy. It was like the best present we ever gave ourselves. My inspiration with this card is (of course!) Valentines Day. Love is the most common and most used word ever. There is no meaning behind it unless you put emphasis on the word. This card represents how simple and meaningful the word "LOVE" can be. I had big and small letters because it can be expressed in the most grandure gestures or the smallest detail by just giving someone a hug or a simple smile. Okay, before I start writing a whole essay on what the word "LOVE" is about. I'll stop right here before I bore you to death! LOL...

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration # 39

It is that time again, Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #39. I decided to make another Valentine's Card, since me and Ceci are making Valentine's card for our collection. Making this card kinda took awhile... I was really picky and I didn't like how the first one looked. Finally, this is the card that I came up with and I am proud of it. Yet, it is another simple card but "Simplicity is the key". I made my own pattern on the main card (I totally forgot what the name of the stamp company, sorry!) and the rest is very self explanatory. I didn't have So Saffron, I did my best finding something closer to the color but a bit brighter.

We're Back!!!

Hi everyone. I just got back and tomorrow will be a brand new day! But before I get excited, during the car ride from Las Vegas, we were talking about scary stories that had happened to us throughout our lives. It scared the buh-geeez-zus out of me. Both my friend and I in the back seat were freaked! Totally freaked! I don't know if I will be able to sleep tonight. LOL...

Well aside from that tomorrow will be super cool! Together, Trish and I will be going to to start making Valentines cards. We are both excited especially after a fresh start and a long relaxing weekend.

A Weekend Break

Well, this weekend will be fun. SOMEONE (wink wink) is having a little celebration somewhere close (sin city). Woohoooo... and so the blogs won't be updated until monday. Well I finally had gotten my last backorder from Stampin' Up and it's totally cool. (Thanks Toni!!!) and super cool Toni gave me a gift... it's a stamp. It's so cute. It's a valentine stamp with many many hearts.

It was a long day today and starting Yoga at 6 was refreshing. Wow! It was fun. We did Brain Vibration and it was wow!. LOL...

Easy making bookmarks

One of the blogs that me and Ceci follows and a big fan of hers is Dawn's Stamping Thoughts. For today's video she showed us how to make a simple bookmark (and let me quote her) " perfect to use for the new catalog of Stampin' Up! heheh. It is so easy to make and it doesn't take long. I ended up making four bookmarks. One for my book that I am currently reading Eclipse by Stephanie Meyers ( 3rd book of the Twilight Saga and I am trying to finish but I am super busy), 2 for my planner ( I made it smaller 3x3, its just the perfect size for it) and one for my Moleskin sketchbook.

Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #38

So I decided to join Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration#38 but at first I was debating whether to join in or not... I still had a lot of uncheck

to do list. This weekend me and some of my closest friends are going to Vegas for my early birthday celebration . But I thought why not, I can still make time making just one more card before I leave to Vegas.

I decided to make a Valentine's card since I was very inspired by Justin Timberlake's song "My Love" So here is my card for the challenge... I named it... My Love. hehehe

I made this card very simple because I wanted the heart to be the main focal point. For the background, I got small pink papers and ripped the edge and made it as a collage. Then stamped the heart stamp with Ruby Red and Whisper White as the background. The stamp set is from Stampin' Up! Something New to Love. What I love about the heart from this stamp set is that the heart has hard edges and it is not a perfect heart. I tried to look for a ribbon that is close to a Ruby Red so I found my American Crafts ribbon and the Paper is Ridding Hood Red it's close enough right? I hope you guys like my card and I hope I inspired you somehow. :D Here's a closer look.

We just recently started our Valentine Collection and we had created many...lol... we had started with a few of the baptism invites and some birthdays. We will post the cards individually. We just recently received our new stamp set (Zoofari) sooo cute! I was super excited and I can't wait to start with our birthdays and valentines.

Well as you can tell, we have been changing our website's colors, background, headers and so on... We are just trying to find that right dress for our baby to wear for the ball. I know that was a cheesey analogy but this site is our baby, the "thing" who will show the people what we can offer.

At the same time, we are doing our best to have this blog updated at all times. In addition, to what Ceci has posted about the little story of how this collaboration began, we will be adding an individual "About me" page. We have noticed that we haven't formally introduce ourselves and tell you guys who we really are. So watch out for that post and it will be posted in a couple hours... it's time for me to hit the sack....

New Day...(er...) i'm back!

Hello! I know it's been a while since I (Cecilia) have written anything. I recently got back from NYC! It was fun, cold, and snowing! Yes, the city was snowing but the most wonderful thing about it is how everything looked and feel once you're there. I am not a native New Yorker, and the feeling is different once you're there than what you see on the telly. As I walked through the busy streets and heavy stench of car fumes, the beauty and the magnificent surroundings engulfs the mind in such a way that it captures every thing and every movement. I love to walk around some place where I am not familiar with. I had been there before but not in a new perspective. During college, we were to perceive things and capture that moment. We were to capture and record as we see fit. We were trained to focus on things oblivious to other people. It was amazing how easily others pass by magnificent opportunities.

As I walked through Central Park, my aunt commented how the park looked ugly because there were no "green trees". Of course it was winter and many of the trees were deciduous. To me it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. It was inspiring almost. It made me almost take out my sketchbook, sit there and just sketch (but I didn't bring it with me....so sad). Every part of nature is beautiful even trees without leaves.

As we continued on, I was determined to see the Guggenheim Museum (by Frank Lloyd Wright). I wanted to see it again. So I had dragged both my aunt and my mother to see it. I made them walk. I think it was from 5th ave to 89th? I'm not sure...maybe. (I'll have to bust out the map if I have to see....too lazy!) It was a fun walk. Especially walking through central park.

Now, I'm back and ready to work. Since Christmas is over...(booo....), we started on creating a new set of cards (birthdays and valentines) and will be posted up in our NEW website...(er...will tell later) and you will see ALL the cards we had created.
So Excited (excited dance!)!

Likhani... what's it about?

Hello everyone! Now, you must be asking what "Likhani" really means.

LIKHANI designs: The name is a translation tagalog word for “CREATED BY”. The words originally are LIKHA (leek - ha!) and NI (knee). It is a unique and special word because it relates to who and what we are as individuals. The name LIKHANI was first thought by Maridon Galang (Patricia's Mother), which bacame the original name of LIKHANI deisgns.

We are both native Filipinas who have a passion for creativity and design. This has been an opportunity we both were looking for but held off while studying another design subject. We both studied and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with BS in Landscape Architecture. Now you're wondering why we both started in Landscape Architecture and we decided to become handmade cardmakers.

Well it was simple, Patricia had always been interested in cardmaking since she was in grade school (more details will be mentioned on "About Trisha"'s blog) and I love to make stuff with my hands. It was just a hobby then but it bloomed into business now. She invited me in this business due to lack of jobs and I developed a passion for it also.

After our first scrapbooking convention in Ontario, CA. We both were estatic and overwhelmed. She developed this idea after we had been exposed to so much scrapbooking. She wanted a business!

It was a beginning of a new business and a new chapter in our lives.

There is always a first time right? Well, I have been curious about digital scrapbooking ever since I saw Kristina Werner posted her digi scrapbook. When she said that there are free digi kits at 2 Peas in a Bucket, I checked it out... Then I saw a challenge from Queen of Quirk and I thought, why not? Right? Even if this is my first time designing a scrapbook through Photoshop it doesn't hurt to make one and enter my digital scrapbooking in a challenge.

I made a digital scrapbook for my godson. It is his first Christmas and everyone in the family is very excited about it. So I thought making this scrapbook will make it extra special and my cousin would love it as her keepsake!

I hope you guys like it. I think i found another thing that I will be doing in the future!!! Sweet!

My brother got me this book for Christmas and when I opened it, I just fell in love with it. Its called Creative Cardmaking A Complete Guide. There are a lot of great ideas from embossing to all vintage style card making. I haven't made any card yet inspired by this book but I recommend this book to everyone.

Since we are talking about books…There are other two books that me and Ceci love to use when we have designer's block. We have used these books for inspirations when we were making our Christmas collection. This will be added to our library and something that will always help us.

First book is called the Cardmaker's Workboo k: The Complete to Design, Color and

Construction Techniques for Beautiful Cards. Wow, that title was a handful! haha This is a great book when you have designer's block. Having a "brain fart" well this is the book to get some inspirations.

Lastly, Encyclopedia of Cardmaking Techniques, I also love this book because it just expands your creativity. It shows you different techniques from using eyelets, embossing, and many more.This is a great book to have in your library.

I made this Christmas card for my boyfriend. He loves penguins and I saw this stickers at Michael's for 77 cents and it became my inspiration to create his card. We had finally finished our last batch of orders and have delivered them safely!!! We are both giddy and super excited on the upcoming events....(vacation).... and have given ourselves time to take a break! We will be planning our Valentine Line and will still be taking birthday orders.

During our last few days of sweatshop...haha...(making cards)... we listened to feel good music (old sappy love songs), laughed until our tummy hurt, remember the past, and created a new future.
We were at Target and while we were waiting in line, I was thinking, is this what God created paths to be like? Is this our faith? and I asked Trish about it and she agreed that it probably was created for us to meet and take the opportunity of this friendhip and make it into something like a partnership (in business....duh!).

I think it was a breakthrough for the both of us. Our business is booming (lol...it was a good start) and there are people willing to help us with this (thanks to our parents). LOL....

Hi everyone.

Happy after thanksgiving...didn't do much during black friday and after that... but i did shop!!! yes i did... i shopped online...(from stampin up)...and it was worth while... yay!

thanksgiving was good and healthy. we didn't have turkey...we had CHICKEN! *LOL* but other than that... it was very delicious.

Everything's been hectic in my side. Personal problems took it's course and delayed my part of the card making. I feel so bad that my partner had to take over I had tried to do... such as ordering and such but i think it's not enough. I will be back soon and will return and focus on cardmaking. It will be one frantic weekend and day...we will do it and it will be accomplished.

I'm exhausted and I'm sure she is too...

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #32

So I decided to do Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge #32... This is my first time doing this challenge and I am soo stoked that I am finally doing one. It kind of took me awhile to think of what kind of card I should make. While listening to KOST 103.5 with their non-stop Christmas songs being played I thought " why not a Christmas Card" DUh! hehe. So as I was going through my materials and I came across with my old Klutz Handmade Card Kit that I got when I was in high school and decided to use one of the template that was provided! After that everything just flowed right out of my hand...

This card is what I call a flower card (or Stampin' Up calls it petal card) where you open the main card and fi

nd another card and you just might see a suprise. You can do at least two more cards but I decided just to do two. Towards the second card I made the last card a shaker card that kind of represent a snowglobe. The main card is also an envelope so once you close the card it is ready to be sent! I hope you guys like it! :D

Another day and another busy card making day. Cecy and I are spending a lot of time as if we are twins stuck to each other just to make this card business work while we are jobless. This card making frenzy not only became a hobby but "our baby". Spending time with her 24/7, taking care of her, and giving all the love that we can give her. We are working really hard to make this business successful and we know it will! :D

This week is kind of difficult trying to balance our time with our card business and family. Especially its Thanksgiving Week Cecy is with her family up north and I am here with my mom helping her with the Day Care and preparing the food for Thanksgiving.

Chapter one: Jobless: Part I

Well as you can see we had started a business solely on cardmaking and this hobby had greatly evolved into a frenzy. Yes, the art of making cards had finally come out and conquered us. As designers, recently graduated from (you will never guess...) landscape architecture, my classmate and very close friend had an idea which evolved into something ....adventurous?...dangerous?...or just out of the blue...ehhh...creative! (haha!) This Idea was created after we both attended a scrap booking convention in Ontario, CA. We were overwhelmed with everything happening in it which enhanced our passion for design and hand crafts into a new and higher level. She called me up one day and asked me if I wanted to join the card making business... i was hesitant at first and overwhelmed of what she had explined (thouroughly and in detail) to me... but later on I started to get the feel of it. It was a good one . (lol).
After the big purchases, and money spending, we finally got the time to create these precious cards. The outcome had been wonderful and the surprised look in people's faces (esp. family) had been inspirational. We had our first order for this sat and once we displayed it in (www.flickr.com) a website, the responses were good. So we continued on and we will be selling these cards at a resonable and fair price. We worked hard on these cards and we had fun also.
